artmastered: Le Nain Brothers, c.1635, Allegory of Victory The Louvre has identified the figure being trampled by Victory as probably being an allegory of either Deceit, Intrigue or Rebellion. The museum also states that stylistically, the piece is liking to be the work of the youngest Le Nain brother, Mathieu, who specialised in large mythological or religious paintings.
